Does the viral video show gender segregation in Kerala? No. Here Is The Fact Check.

Social media users recently shared a video that allegedly shows gender segregation in Kerala. The video shows students of opposite genders separated using a wall. However, the video is from Maharashtra, and the viral claim is false.

Claim:

A social media user on X (Formerly Twitter) shared a video on October 20, 2025, with a Malayalam caption that translates to,”Starting with the hijab, transforming classrooms in this way is the unequal, beautiful Kerala they dream of.” The post received around 23,300 views, 694 likes, and 277 reposts.

On October 22, 2025, other X users, such as @KreatelyMedia and @MahaRathii, also shared the video, suggesting that it is from Kerala.

The video also went viral in other social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Reddit, with a similar caption.

Here are the facts:

We performed a reverse image search on the keyframes of the viral video and found that the video was initially shared on Instagram on October 10, 2025, with a caption,”Balance your life with Deen and Duniya — that’s the formula for real success. #teaching #education #mosacademy #nanded #islamic #deen #duniya #aakhira #coaching.”

The account also carries other videos from the same classroom, and the bio reads,”Director of MOS Academy Nanded.”

Taking this as a cue, we geolocated the institute at Nanded, Maharashtra, and reached out to Mohammad Aamer, Director, MOS Academy. He clarified that the video is from his institute located in Maharashtra, and not from Kerala. He also indicated that MOS Academy is a private tuition center in Nanded and that he has complete ownership of the video which he uploaded in his personal Instagram account. He stated that other social media handles used his content without consent and falsely linked it to Kerala.

The analysis of the viral video reveals that it shows a private institute from Nanded, Maharashtra. Therefore, the viral claim propagated online that it shows gender segregation in Kerala is false.
