Viral Crying Bride Video: A Scripted Wedding Turned Into Communal Propaganda
A video showing a young Hindu woman being forced to marry an older Muslim man is viral across social media platforms. Our investigation found that the video is misleading and comes from a YouTube channel that shares such scripted content. The misleading claim has fuelled communal hatred online.
Across social platforms, unverified videos can rapidly weaponise any clips into communal narratives and intensify religious polarisation. A recent video from Bangladesh was circulated with the claim that a ‘20-year-old Hindu’ girl was forced to marry a ‘65-year-old Muslim’ man. This triggered communal and religious hatred reactions against Muslims online.
The viral clip, shot as a bridal wedding video, depicts a young woman in bridal attire visibly crying, screaming, and struggling to pull away inside a car alongside her elderly groom, while her family attempts to console her.
OBC identified the viral video as false and misleading.
What is the viral claim?
An X account @MrTiwaree posted this video on X on 3 October, with the caption, ‘ “PLEASE SAVE ME.”
A 20-year-old Hindu girl in Bangladesh was reportedly forced to marry a 65-year-old Muslim man.
As she was allegedly being taken away, she cried and begged people to save her life.
Imagine the fear in that moment. ’

The video had amassed more than 1.4k likes, 1.2k reposts and 30k views.
In the comment section, one user wrote, ‘This is how Hindu girls were forcefully captured and converted to Islam during Mughals,Tughlak and Aladdin Khirji rule in India. Live pictures from Bangladesh what happened in India during past 12 century to 18th century during Islamic rule.’
. Another commented, ‘This is the “atrocity” being committed against Hindu girls by Bangladeshi Islamists. Men in their 65s and 70s are marrying Hindu girls who are just 19 or 20 years old, the very age when they should be studying and building their future. And the BJP government and Modi are silent. But apparently, maintaining “friendship” with Bangladesh is more important.#Bangladesh #Hindu’.These comments show how such claims can quickly fuel communal hate online.
Several other social media accounts in India have also circulated similar videos. Instagram user @Voiceofhindus posted a video with a caption that reads, ‘Condition of Hindus in Bangladesh 🚨Female Hindu teacher attacked by Islamists in Bangladesh in front of Police.’

Tracing the origin of the video
We conducted a reverse image search using key frames from the video, which led us to a longer version of the same video uploaded by the YouTube page of a channel named Nk Media One.

The channel produces Bengali village wedding videos as separate clips of various ceremonies rather than releasing a single, continuous video. It has posted 470 videos and has 128K subscribers.
The original video is a 5-minute-long video captioned in Bangla, which translates to, ‘I can’t hold back my tears after watching this video. II The bride and groom, the bride and groom, II Bangladeshi Wedding Video’. The video features a Hindu wedding ceremony in rural Bangladesh. In the clip, a tearful bride bids farewell to her family and departs in a car with the groom.

The video was posted on 9 April 2026. It has gained 4.1 million views.
We compared key frames from the video with other videos from the same channel. We found a pattern of the same actors appearing repeatedly across different videos on the channel.

Our investigation found other social media pages sharing similar content, including a Facebook page named ‘Wedding Studio’ and the Instagram handle ‘AN Media 1’, whose bio explicitly states that it shares ‘village wedding videos.’
We then checked the social media handles linked to the YouTube account, including its associated Facebook and Instagram pages. We also noted that, due to the video’s current virality, their Facebook page has reposted the video with a sensational, clickbait caption.

Additionally, OBC reached out to the Bangladesh-based channel for a comment. The article will be updated when we get a response.
Our analysis revealed that the viral video claiming to show a ‘young Hindu woman forced to marry an older Muslim man’ is completely false. The clip originates from a YouTube channel named NK Media 1, which produces scripted village wedding videos. It features Hindu wedding videos. Despite this, the video was reframed and reshared online as evidence of Islamist crimes against Hindus, drawing hundreds of thousands of views and fuelling anti-Muslim hatred in the comments.
